Organized by the European Master in Classical Cultures
A three-day seminar of the European Master in Classical Cultures will take place in Athens, on June 4-7, 2013, at the Central University (30 Panepistimiou str.) and at the Old University (Thoulou 5, Plaka).
The European Master in Classical Cultures (EMCC) is an internationally integrated, interdisciplinary programme in Classical Studies, supported by 11 partner universities from 8 European countries, namely the Universities of Athens, Freiburg, Hamburg, Innsbruck, Istanbul, Münster, Nikosia, Perugia, Poznań, Roma Tre, Toulouse. As an Erasmus Curriculum Development Project, the planning and the implementation of the Masters programme has been subsidised by the European Union since 2006, as it fulfils the criteria for promoting mobility and cooperation in the field of higher education in Europe particularly well.
The Summer Seminar includes the presentations of the students’ Master thesis essays, a lecture by Professor Dr. Peter Funke, a discussion with the EMCC-students, and visits to the Epigraphic Museum, the Classical Agora of Athens, the Akropolis and its Museum. http://www.archaiologia.gr
