Pompeii
frenzy has hit London with this major exhibition. In AD 79, a
catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius buried two cities in ash. They
lay preserved for 1,600 years. This extraordinary exhibition takes the
viewer back to the real lives of the people of Pompeii and Herculaneum –
from the bustling street to the Roman home, the rediscovery of these
amazing antiquities provides a unique perspective on daily life in the
Roman Empire.
The museum has also laid on lectures, workshops, film and craft activities exploring life in Pompeii and Herculaneum. This show has been a huge hit so far – booking essential.
